How to play Heads Up, Seven Up
- Choose seven students to come to the front of the room.
- Say "Heads down, thumbs up." Everyone else puts their head on their desk with eyes closed and one thumb raised.
- The seven tiptoe around the room and each gently presses down one thumb, then returns to the front.
- Say "Heads up, seven up." Students whose thumbs were pressed stand up.
- Each standing student guesses which of the seven tapped them. A correct guess swaps them into the seven for the next round.
Variations
- Use fewer tappers (four or five) in a small class.
- Play "Heads Up, Seven Up" with vocabulary: tappers must say a word, and guessers must define it before they guess.
π‘ Teacher tips
- Remind students that peeking ends the round for everyone, which keeps it honest.
