How to play Trashketball

  1. Put a bin at the front and tape a 1-point line and a 2-point line on the floor.
  2. Split students into teams and give each team a mini whiteboard.
  3. Read a question. All teams write their answer.
  4. Every team with a correct answer earns 1 point and sends one player to shoot.
  5. A basket adds 1 or 2 bonus points depending on the line. Rotate shooters every round.

Variations

  • Low-tech: use a sticky note as the ball and a box as the basket.
  • Steal rule: teams that miss can buy a shot by answering a bonus question.

💡 Teacher tips

  • Keep the answer points worth more than shots so knowledge still wins.
  • Track scores on the projected scoreboard to avoid disputes.
