How to play Classroom Escape Room

  1. Create four to six puzzles. Each answer gives a code (a number, word or color) needed for the next envelope.
  2. Give each team the first puzzle and a story ("The principal has been locked out...").
  3. Teams solve each puzzle and show you the code to receive the next envelope.
  4. The final code opens the lock or unlocks the last question.
  5. Project a timer. The first team to escape wins; everyone who escapes before time is up gets a reward.

Variations

  • Digital version: use a form with answer validation so each section unlocks with the right code.
  • Simpler version: one puzzle per table, teams rotate.

πŸ’‘ Teacher tips

  • Keep a hint card for each puzzle so stuck teams can trade 2 minutes of time for a hint.
