Online classroom game

Guess the Word (Classroom Wordle)

A Wordle-style guessing game for the classroom with your own spelling or vocabulary words. Any length, optional hints, team turns. Free and made for the projector.

How to play Guess the Word with your class

  1. Load your spelling list or this week’s vocabulary under Edit words.
  2. Teams take turns: the team whose turn it is suggests a guess with the right number of letters. Type it (or tap the on-screen keyboard) and press Enter.
  3. Green means the right letter in the right place. Yellow means the letter is in the word somewhere else. Gray means it is not in the word.
  4. Solving early pays: 6 points on the first guess, down to 1 point on the sixth.
  5. Stuck? Use a lifeline: Clue shows the hint and Free letter fills in one letter, each for 1 point less.
  6. After the last word, the podium shows the winners.

Unlike the daily Wordle, the words come from your lesson and can be any length from 2 to 10 letters, so it works from kindergarten sight words to high school vocabulary.
